REPAIR WORK
Recently I've received 1978 Martin for general maintenance. It needed substantial amount of work.
The frets were completely flat with no chance of recrowning.

The nut was in pretty bad shape

One of the existing pickups needed replacement with some aesthetic touch-up

It needed a new saddle

So let the work begin

First, I've started with fretwork. The fret wire needed radius put in to it.

Then, old frets were removed.

New frets were installed and levelled

New pickup was installed (L.R. Baggs Element active), inlay fixed.

Compensated bone saddle and nut were installed.

And this old Martin is almost new again, ready to entertain for years to come.

Launch of the new model - SAJ200

Hi to everyone from Shoma Acoustics!
I'm pleased to announce my new model SAJ200. As you can recognise from the picture, this model is a Jumbo type guitar. The top and back bracings as well as the body shape and size are based on the Gibson J200 guitar specs. The dovetail neck joint is the standard type that I use on all of my guitars. This is also the first guitar that features the 'Dragonfly' that will be incorporated as part of my logo on all of my future guitars.
Just as all the other models, the top, sides and back can be customised as per costumer's request but the default choice is:

Top: Sitka spruce
Back and sides: Honduran Rosewood
Neck: Brazilian Mahogany
Bridge and Fingerboard: Rosewood
Tuners: Gotoh
Pickup: L.R. Baggs 'ELEMENT Active System'

This particular guitar features a paua shell purfling & rosette and the large Mother of Pearl markers.

Here are some of the specifications:

Scale: ...............................................25.34"
Lover bout: ......................................17.0"
Upper bout: .....................................12.4"
Body length: ....................................21.06"
Total Frets: .......................................20
Neck (No. of frets to the body) : ......14

Another happy costumer

Oddie is costumer of mine who just arrived to my studio to pick up his SAT12, custom built for him.
This small body guitar has really big sound, plenty of volume and perfect balance.
I love to see the smile on my costumers face when they try their instrument for the first time. Priceless.
Thanks Oddie

Melbourne Guitar Makers Festival 2015

This was officially my first exhibition. I can easily call it success. Great learning experience. The feedback on my guitars was fantastic. I scored the order and sold good number of my pick guards. Had the chance to chat to some well known musicians as well as well known guitar makers such as Jack Spira, Tim Kill, Laurie Williams and menu others. My next exhibition...March 2016. Port Fairy Folk Festival. See you there.
I'm uploading some pictures from this remarkable guitar lovers event.
